Rose is the best pet sitter we have ever had. We have 5 cats and one in particular is a handful. We had to start boarding him during our trips because our last sitter couldn't handle him. I am very detailed when it comes to my cats needs and have felt with our past sitters that I was overdoing it. I would leave detailed notes and got the feeling they didn't even read them. With Rose, she met with us for over 2 hours for our consultation and we could tell right away that she takes her job very seriously. She considered our 'problem child/cat' a challenge and I am amazed at how well she did with him. From giving him pills to brushing his sensitive, arthritic areas she really took care of him above and beyond what we expected. I think she did better than we do. :) We took a trip overseas for 2 weeks and it was the first trip I've taken where I really didn't worry like I normally do. She sent me regular updates via email. What I appreciated the most is she really got to know all 5 of the cats with their quirks and personalities and it showed in the updates. With past pet sitters, I felt like I was bothering them. With Rose, we laughed and smiled at her updates. She truly cares about the animals like they are her own. Q. What Is A Pet Sitter?

A Pet Sitter is a service provider who takes care of a pet in its own home.

Q. Will You Board My Pet While I Am Away?

No, we are not a boarding facility or a kennel. We only provide animal care in the pet’s own home.

Q. Should My Pet Sitter Be Insured?

You should definitely select a pet sitter that is fully insured and bonded. It is important that their coverage includes “Care, Custody, and Control” of the pet. Pet sitters can provide proof of coverage, or a phone number you can call to verify they are currently insured.

Q. Do You Have A Business Liscence?

Yes, we are licensed with the Bedford County Clerks office which is located on the square in Shelbyville, Tennessee.

Q. How Long Are The Visits?

Visits can vary from 30 minutes to an hour (or longer) according to your pet's needs. See Services and Rates page for more details.

Q. How Often Do You Visit?

We visit 1 to 4 times a day (or as needed). These visits can be customized to the client’s needs, depending on our schedule and route for the day.

Q. What Are Your Rates?

Our rates are determined by the amount of time that we are at your home, See Services and Rates page for more information.

Q. Is The Initial Interview Required And What Is The Purpose Of It?

Yes. We prefer to interview "the parent" and their pet prior to retaining them as a client. We want to make sure that you and your pets are comfortable with us and that we all interact well together. This is also an opportunity to meet with your sitter and communicate any information necessary so we may provide the best care for your pet(s). At this visit we will complete the necessary paperwork, answer questions, transfer keys, and tour your home while discussing detailed instructions on how to care for your pets. Clients requesting repeat consultations (for any reason) are billed as a normal Pet Sitting.

Q. What Is Our Background?

We are animal lovers and multiple pet owners. All of our employees are fully insured and bonded. For more information and photos of us and our pets see the About Us page.

Q. What Happens If My Pet Is In Your Care And There Is An Emergency?

During the interview process we will fill out a veterinary release form on your pet which covers all aspects of emergency care. Further, we also obtain your contact information and also emergency contact information on two of your closest friends, relatives, neighbors, etc.

Q. What Happens If We Don't Get Home At The Time We Scheduled?

We will do our very best to continue the pet care services, until you are at home or until you inform us that you no longer require our services.

Q. What If I Book Your Service And Have To Cancel?

There is currently no charge for cancellations, except for certain holidays.

Q. What Kinds Of Pets Do You Care For?

We care for almost any pets; from dogs and cats, to birds and horses. Please let us know if you have a special pet or unusual needs and we will do our very best to meet your expectations.

Q. How Far In Advance Do I Need To Book A Pet Sitter?

We prefer 2 weeks notice, especially for new clients and during the holidays. However, if you need our services and do not have time to provide 2 weeks notice, please contact us to see if we can add you to our schedule.

Q. Do You Provide Services On A Short Term Basis Or Do I Need To Sign A Long-Term Contract?

While most of our clients prefer that we visit their pets on a regular basis, we can provide service as needed when you're traveling or have an emergency situation arise.

Q. Do You Charge A Travel Fee?

We use Mapquest.com to look up miles from your home to our office. Any location further than 8 miles from our office will be charged a per visit additional travel fee. See Services and Rates page for more information.

Q. How Can I Help The Pet Sitter Care For My Pet?

  • Make reservations with your pet sitter early, especially during the holidays
  • Ensure your pet is well socialized and allows strangers to handle him/her
  • Maintain current vaccinations for your pet
  • Provide clear instructions detailing specific pet-care responsibilities and emergency contact information including how to reach you and your vet
  • Leave pet food and supplies in one place
  • Show the pet sitter your home's important safety features

Q. When Is The Best Time To Call Rose’s Peace Of Mind Pet Care, LLC?

The best time to call us is between 9am and 6pm. Mornings and evenings are our busiest times. If you receive our voicemail system, please leave a message and we will call you back as soon as possible. You may also contact us via e-mail at Rose@rosespeaceofmindpetcare.com; we try to check our e-mail several times a day.

Q. How Do I Pay?

Payment is required prior to or on the day services begin. For first time clients payment will be collected at the initial interview.

Q. Can I Keep In Contact With You?

Definitely, we can communicate via e-mail, phone, or text messages to give updates. If a client does not want to be contacted while they are away, we can leave a daily “visit log” which is a quick narrative of each daily visit that your pet sitter will leave. This visit log then can be reviewed at your convenience when you return home.

Q. Can I Get A Reference?

Absolutely, contact us and we will put you in touch with other clients who have used our services.

Q. Who Uses Your Services?

Our services are geared to retirees, busy families and working professionals. Clients use our services when they work long hours, emergency out of town trips, vacations, and business trips.

Q. Will You Groom My Pet?

We offer limited at your home grooming such as brushing, clipping nails, cleaning ears etc. You may contact us and we can discuss your individual grooming needs.

Q. What Other Services Do You Offer?

One service included in the base price is bringing in your mail, watering your plants, and a variety of other basic security and house care services which gives your home a “lived – in” look . We also offer many other services. See Services and Rates page for more information.

Q. Do You Offer Overnight Pet Sitting At My Home?

Currently we do not provide overnight pet sitting at the client’s home.
